SCOTT ARMSTRONG
LEAD PASTOR
Scott spent four years with Ravi Zacharias International Ministries, an international group working primarily with skeptics of Christianity, and left there several years ago to prepare for church planting. Scott and Kerstin were drawn to Atlanta's urban Eastside on account of its beauty, diversity and vibrancy and moved here in the Spring of 2005 to pioneer the work of City Church-Eastside. Scott holds three Masters degrees: Christian Thought (culture and philosophy), Divinity and Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary (RTS) in Orlando, FL and is now officially sick of school. He and Kerstin, a Miami native, met at RTS in 1998 (where she received an M Div and Masters in Counseling), married in 2000 and have two beautiful daughters, Karis (4) and Carlie (1). When not pursuing their life calling of introducing people to the challenges, intricacies, and beauty of relationship with God, they enjoy hosting parties, travel and walks in the neighborhood. Together, they endure Barney songs, praying that their children will soon grow to love Sufjan Stevens.
Scott is always up for a good coffee or other libation to talk more about the church and community.
BRYAN BUCK
PASTOR OF SPIRITUAL FORMATION
Before coming on board City Church Eastside, Bryan spent the past seven years in the commercial lighting industry where he worked in sales & marketing. During this time Bryan completed a Master of Divinity at Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, FL where he and his family enjoyed evacuating from numerous hurricanes. Married in 2001, Bryan and Amanda have two wonderful daughters, Ellie and Graceyn. Bryan and Amanda fell in love with the urban landscape during graduate school and appreciate the culture, aesthetics, and sociological sensibilities of Atlanta’s urban eastside. As a family they enjoy simple time together, local eateries & venues, travel, and the great outdoors. Over warm cups of joe, Bryan enjoys discussing worldview, college sports, and the cultural challenges that face America’s urban cores.
TROY BRONSINK
WORSHIP LEADER
Troy Bronsink is a singer-songwriter, community organizer, and pastor. He enjoys listening to everything from monastic chants, to India Arie, to Radiohead. Troy went to undergrad at Liberty University and to seminary at Columbia Theological Seminary- so his life includes a W I D E experience of the Christian family. Troy consults with churches nationwide around missional living, the arts, and the emergent church. Troy digs church so much that he participates in it twice on Sunday... He and his wife Kelley, and their 6 year old daughter live in Southwest downtown Atlanta where Troy is facilitating the emergence of a new monastic community of Jesus followers known as Neighbors Abbey. They will be in the earliest stages of church planting for at least 6 more months and so he has committed to helping City Church in the meantime as we design our own unique aesthetic and worship approaches.
Troy loves to write new music and learn old music and make music with all sorts of artists. So if you want to get together to jam or just talk music and arts, he's good for an espresso or microbrew.
